In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the steps fix camera freezing issue on your iPhone 7/ 7 Plus.
1. Reboot your device
When it comes to fixing some minor problems like app crashing or freezing on iPhone, rebooting is the first thing that pops into people’s mind. In this case, rebooting may do the trick. Here is how
Step one: First off, you need to force quit all the open apps. To do this, you simply need to double press the Home button and swipe up on all the apps to close them
Step two: Once you are done, press and hold down the On/Off button located at the right side of your device
Step three: At the same time, press and hold the Volume down button on the left. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Apple logo
Step four: Once your device finishes booting up, launch the Camera app
2. Disable Location Services and Background App Refresh
The Location Services feature has been available on iOS for quite some time. Basically, once you have enabled Location Services, the Camera app on your iPhone can geotag your photos so you know where you took those pics.
However, the constant location tracking not only drains your battery but also prevents your Camera app from working properly. Therefore, we recommend you give some necessary apps permission to use your location on your iPhone or turn it off. You can turn off Location Services by heading to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Turn off.
Besides, you also need to disable Background App Refresh to stop apps from running in the background. To do this, head to Settings > General >Background Refresh > turn off the switch. Moreover, it’s a good idea to update all apps on your iPhone. You can do this by heading to App Store > Updates > Update All
Once everything is done, restart your device, then open the Camera app and start shooting videos or capturing pics.
3. Make sure that you are running the latest version of iOS
If the problem still persists, update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. To do this, you need to head to Settings > General > Software. Keep in mind that a new software update usually includes bug fixes and system improvements.
